Using Values to Guide You

Students are faced with all sorts of challenges, online and off. One thing that can guide them
towards making wise decisions are their personal values. This unit explores some important ones!

Getting Ready To Take Flight

To use technology wisely, young students must learn the basics. In this unit they discover how the Internet works, how to search for information, interpret results, and how to tell what's true, and what's not!

You, Online

Going online requires a lot of responsibility, as young people discover in this unit. They learn about digital reputations, personal information, respectful communication, and how to handle big emotions, online and off.

Online Safety

Finally, it's critical for young students to learn how to keep themselves safe online. This unit covers everything from cyberbullying, online scams, strangers, passwords, to keeping devices safe and secure.

Digital Literacy + SEL go hand-in-hand

In a meta-analysis of 213 school-based SEL (Social Emotional Learning) programs, participants demonstrated significantly improved social and emotional skills, attitudes, and behavior, as well as an 11-percentile-point gain in academic performance. The social-emotional competencies—Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making—are in high demand online too! These are the skills students desperately need in order to avoid the pitfalls of online life and to know how to engage, safely and wisely, with the flood of information (and people!) they will encounter online.
