Digital + AI Literacy Curriculum Evaluation Rubric
Want to see how Cyber Civics measures up?
We built the rubric below because we believe schools deserve a clear way to evaluate their options — and we're confident in where Cyber Civics lands. Our curriculum is standards-aligned, fully teacher-led, activity-based (no student devices required), scaffolded across grades 4–8, and updated every year with AI literacy woven throughout.

Usability & Flexibility — Can teachers implement it without heavy prep? Does it work without requiring individual student devices? Are lessons sequenced and scaffolded across grade levels?

Student Engagement — Does it foster collaboration, discussion, and reflection? Is it accessible to all learners?

Assessment & Impact — Are there tools to measure learning? Is the curriculum backed by evidence of real-world effectiveness?

Support & Sustainability — Does the provider offer ongoing updates, training, and dedicated support — or is the content static?

Each criterion is scored from 1 (Needs Improvement) to 4 (Excellent), so you can compare programs side by side and make a confident recommendation to your team.

Not all digital citizenship curricula are created equal. Use this free rubric to find the one that's right for your school.

Choosing a digital literacy or AI literacy curriculum can feel overwhelming — there are a lot of options out there, and they don't all deliver the same thing. Some mention AI but don't actually teach it. Some require 1:1 devices. Some haven't been updated in years.

This rubric gives you a clear, structured way to evaluate any digital citizenship or AI literacy curriculum across the criteria that matter most:

Standards Alignment — Does it align with ISTE, Common Core, CASEL, aiEDU, and AILit standards? Are learning objectives clear and measurable?

Relevance & Rigor — Is AI literacy truly integrated, or just mentioned in passing? Does it build critical thinking and responsible tech use?
